BOOK: Rome by Jay Crownover

MY RATING FOR IT: 4 stars

SYNOPSIS

Fun and fearless, Cora Lewis knows how to keep her tattooed “bad boy” friends at the Marked in line. But beneath all that flash and sass is a broken heart. Cora won’t let herself get burned again. She’s waiting to fall in love with the perfect man—a baggage-free, drama-free guy ready for commitment. Then she meets Rome Archer.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn, rigid, and bossy. And he’s returned from his final tour of duty more than a little broken. Rome’s used to filling many roles: big brother, doting son, supersoldier—but none of those fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the dark demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer through it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes a blinding flash of color in a sea of gray.Perfect may not be in the cards, but perfectly imperfect could just last forever . ..

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

Well, this book restore my faith in Jay Cronower , because for me at least Jet was kind of .. meh!! , so I was a bit put out by the series .what a huge mistake!!!! This one was great.

Rome is, our beloved Rule’s older brother, but he’s not been the same for quite a while , ever since the final tour in the Army . something’s of and everyone is upset about it , because he’s not the fun loving guy that he used to be , and now he’s being  kind of an ass,

I mean I get it, he’s scared by war, that’s pretty understandable, but he’s also very hurt about the lies that where uncover in the other book about Rule and Shaw.

Everyone in the group of friends is trying to be understanding, but spunky, hell racer Cory has had enough with his somber attitude and his mean comments towards her friends, ( she is a very small , tattoo pixie that is  very protective of her friends), so she puts him in his place and they get in this huge fight.

“I could’ve punch him in the nose, but there wasn’t a stepladder anywhere handy.”

Cora has her own troubles, because she got her heart broken by her fiancé, when he was cheating on her for so many years while she was picturing a perfect life together. Soooo obviously she has some trust issues, and she’s not going to settle for anything less than mister perfect!!

“It was hard to trust someone enough to let them all the way in when I didn’t think they deserved to be there. -Cora”

Well as faith will have it Rome and Cora eventually find them selves in a position where Rome is in need of Cora’s help , and actually Cora finds her self kind of attracted to the guy ( who wouldn’t he’s yummy , all big skilled muscles and piercing blue eyes to die for !! )

Eventually Rome realizes that she is a very different kind of girl and after a hell of a night of steaming passion they star to see a bit more of a brighter future.

“The fact that so many of my friends were stumbling headfirst into their happily-ever-after gave my tired heart hope that I couldn’t be far behind.”

They are such great characters; I find that I felt very happy when they started to have a sort of relationship, they are so opposite but so similar in many things, but they are both very afraid of letting go of their personal fears…

This book was such a great one to read, I love it, and got me all juiced up to read the next one on the series

I loved them as a couple and I love all the stuff that they had to get trough together

“This, Cora … this is as perfect as two people can be”

This one was a sweet and sexy one and I’m eager to get going with Nash!!
