The Scene (Bad Boy Billionaire #1, 2, 3)

BOOK:  The Scene (Bad Boy Billionaire #1, 2, 3)

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 1/2 stars

Miami. The city of sex, sin — and secrets.

I came here with one mission: solve the mystery behind my brother’s death.
Somebody’s got answers.
Somewhere, I’ll find what I’m looking for.

I didn’t bet on Xavier. He’s my way into the scene — and my biggest threat.
I should keep my distance, but I can’t stay away.

I’m playing with fire, and I just pray I don’t get burned.

Well , I knew this was a series , so I also knew about the possibility of  cliffhangers , and when it came it did with  no surprise , what did surprise me though was how fast I wanted to keep reading and find more about this story !! And YES! the billionaire bad boy angle is been uses and recycled a million times over , I know !!! but what I liked about this one was the Thriller part of it , it made it seem like there was a bit more of a story there.
The sex scenes are descriptive in this first one  and steamy as they always are, not particularly clever (i did felt like they sounded like a million other scenes) but they worked for the story.
All in all it got me hooked and I want to read the next one, and that’s the point of a series?
And …Well I finished it, and it was kind of good , it kept me interested , the story had some thrills in it , but nothing to big .
The overall  sex scenes are a bit disappointing  , mmm they had some meat  to it , but they felt old , like you had seen them before , there was nothing new to it … I guess after so many books it’s hard to find really scorching , make you tingle kind of scenes anymore ( there are exceptions of course !!).
The ending kind of sucked though, it was rushed, and very uneventful, which was kind of turn off actually.
I did like it, it was a fast read, good enough for an afternoon with nothing to do.

BOOK: Make Me (Make or Break #1) by Amanda Heath

18552831 make me

BOOK:  Make Me (Make or Break #1)

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 1/2 stars

Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.”
I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back.
He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

Paisley Vaughn grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. After finding her mother dead from an overdose, Paisley and her baby sister are shipped off to live with her maternal grandparents.

She always knew they were rich, she just didn’t realize how rich they were. Now she’s being forced to go to a prestigious high school. One where the tuition is more money then she’s ever seen.

Thinking these rich kids are going to be snobbish and rude, she’s surprised to find the Vaughn name means she is untouchable. Well unless your name is Channing Southerland.

Paisley has to navigate her new life and all the new people in it. While her mother might have lied about her grandparents, no one is lying about Channing. He’s beautiful, mean, arrogant, and turning her on.

Before long a war is fought, leaving Paisley wondering if she’ll be ruined or made. Though she might just fall irrevocably in love.

Well, this was my first book of MS. Heath and it was a fun read that was for sure, easy and fast … not so much angst and some steam to it.

I had this one on my kindle since I don’t remember when, but never got around to read it … so I finally went ahead.

It was a bit fast , I mean things just kept happening one on top of the next , and is lacking in the edit department ( but  who am I  to say anything about that! I have horrible spelling, BUT I do have Spanish as a first language!!)  But not enough to distract me from the story

The story was sweet, it put me off a little bit the way the heroine was depicted, it kind of ticks me when authors make their character describe them self and how beautiful they are …. ( like oh I’m dirt poor  but I’m really gorgeous and my hair is beautiful and my genes are so good and I have no food but my muscles are toned ) Buuuuut the leading men was adorable, I could very easy picture him and his brooding ways. I was expecting a bit more sizzle though, they kept insinuating  about how passionate the lead was , but it was just ok for me.

They had a very fun bickering with each other, they kind of love hating on one another.

“From the moment I met you, I wanted nothing to do with you. If you want a war, then I’ll bring it. But don’t think you’re going to get off on bossing me around. I don’t care about your money or your body.”

Paisley (our main character) was a tough girl from the trailer park, with a drug addict mom and a little sister. She seemed to be much adjusted and accepting of that life, which was weird … but … ok

It was hard for me to understand how she went along so easy in to that change of life, but whatever, I just went along with the ride I guess …

Well the book is a really easy read, it tried to touch some heavy topics, but it was very poorly developed, so I’m just seeing it as a light story …

“Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back. He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

If you want an easy, nice, entertaining, story, with a lovely handsome guy, you got it with this one.

Collide (Collide #1) and pulse (Collide #2) by Gail McHugh

BOOK : Collide (Collide #1)  and pulse (Collide #2) by Gail McHugh

Her mind tried to fight a bloody battle against what her body already knew. She wanted him, and she wanted him bad.

On the heels of college graduation and the unexpected death of her mother, Emily Cooper moves to New York City to join her boyfriend for a fresh start. Dillon Parker has been sweet, thoughtful, and generous through Emily’s loss, and she can’t imagine her life without him—even as her inner voice tells her to go slow.

Then she meets Gavin Blake. A rich and notorious playboy, Gavin is dangerously sexy and charming as hell. Their first encounter is brief, but it’s enough to inflame Emily’s senses. When their paths cross again through an unexpected mutual acquaintance, she tries to deny the connection she feels, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome won’t let go so easily.

As she discovers Gavin’s pain-filled past and Dillon’s true nature begins to surface, Emily knows she must take action or risk destroying everyone—including herself. But how can she choose when she can’t trust her own heart?

Emily Cooper, is just fresh out of college and she moved to the city with her long time boyfriend Dillon, her life is outside down after her mother’s death.

The relationship is getting very serious as Dillon apparent rise in his job.

Emily doesn’t feel she is ready to live with him so she loves with her friend Olivia and while she job hunt for something related to her studies she decides to work at a local Dinner.

The very first day on the job, she is asked to make a delivery and there’s where things get a bit complicated, because she meets handsome billionaire Gavin Blake!! (Swoon), she is immediately super drawn to him and him to her, is beyond what they can understand, and as Gavin tries to pursue her, she misled him with a fake name.

But as always nothing is that easy and fate decides that they should meet again setting a terrible and twisted love triangle between two so called friends and the woman they both want.

A lot of terrible thing happened and I kind of hated the heroin At times , because she was so friggin weak that was unbearable at times , but after a while she found her lady balls and got with the program , because I have to say that Dillon ( the boyfriend is the douchiest of douches!!)

The second book finally gave an Emily a bit more decisive, and thanks good because I was ready to scream!! I mean Gavin was dreamy and she was so damn insecure and accepting all the stupid things Dillon did to her … I was beside my self with Dillon’s actions.

Well the second book is a loooot better, and the surprises keep coming, but I can’t say what happened or I’ll ruin it for you …

I do must say that there are some really steamy scenes (and a bit of kind of cheesy ones too) .

I did like the books , I just didn’t looooove the books , and maybe I was expecting to much due to the great reviews , but to me the heroine was not up to the amazing leading man … she was to weak and to sorry for herself all the damn time and that was kind of a turn of for me .

The secondary characters where not explored, so there’s not much to say bout them.

The highlight of the book is Gavin, he was great and I love him.

An Ok read, a bit frustrating at times, but good enough that I felt compelled to read both books.

Troubles and Treats (Chocolate Lovers #3) by Tara Sivec

BOOK:  Troubles and Treats (chocolate lovers #3) by Tara Sivec

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 1/2 stars

Drew and Jenny have spent years being the envy of their friends with their out of control sex lives – well, not really. Mostly it makes their friends want to throw up in their mouths a little.
With two little kids and two busy lives, for the first time, Drew and Jenny aren’t on the same page in the bedroom. Drew will stop at nothing to get his previously amorous wife back in the sack, and Jenny will do anything for a full night of sleep.

Carter and Claire, and Jim and Liz are their usual (un)helpful selves and are full of advice for the discontented duo, wanting nothing more than to help restore order to the usually happy couple’s lives.

In the third and final installment of the Chocolate Lovers Series, will Drew and Jenny find the spark that’s been missing in their marriage, or will the trouble they’re having cause a stickier situation than the time Jenny poured honey all over Drew and he fused himself to a tree?

This is a series that I love, there are funny and witty and very politically incorrect but in a super hilarious way , BUUUUUT….

… I didn’t love this one , which is kind of sad , I don’t know what happened but it was very hard to connect with the story , the first 5 chapters where a bit tedious to me , eventually I enjoy it , but it was not an easy read like the previous ones.

Drew was funny but at times it was tooo over the top in his plans, there’s so much one can believe that a normal woman can understand in a husband.

Jenny was kind of blah in this book, she actually losses her sex mojo during most of the book, which made it difficult to connect because that is one of her characteristic trades as a character.

The kids where amazing I still love Gavin and their interactions where very funny.

Claire and Carter where as great as ever and Lisa and Jim too, I guess my problem is that I don’t find Drew and Jenny that interesting to begin with, yes they’re funny in an over the top crazy sex life kind of way and yes they are a bit unusual in their own way, but overall I just don’t find them that interesting.

I did laugh a lot at some parte (mostly from the middle of the book forward) but I just didn’t love it like the rest of them.

Hopefully the Chocoholics series will make me a believer again, because this books are supposed to be easy, fun , light , reading to me and this last one felt like work at times.

Written on Her Heart, a Callaway Cove Novel by Paige Ryan

BOOK: Written on Her Heart by Paige Ryan

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 1/2 stars

Andi Callaway has dreamed of becoming a published author her entire life. Ford Delaney has always wanted nothing more than to escape his past.
An opportunity of a lifetime. This is what Andi finds when she returns home to Callaway Cove on summer break. A chance to work for her literary idol Ford Delaney is up for grabs, and she’s willing to risk everything-her boyfriend, her best friends, and her education-to get it.

As attraction builds between Andi and Ford, she begins to discover consequences must come hand-in-hand with something great-which could loosen control over her tightly wound life. And once romantic sparks fly, Andi’s other relationships start to crumble, Ford’s fame comes back to haunt him, and the heat they generate will either forge a powerful, enduring love or threaten everything she holds dear.

*Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Well this book was on my TBR list for a loooooong time ,  I started it like a month ago and after a few pages I was kind of put of it , maybe I was in a wrong mood or something , so I gave it another try a few weeks ago and let me tell you … it was not half bad !!

It started a little slow but pick up the pace fairly quickly.

The story revolves around Andi Callaway a girl from a small costal town who dreams about becoming a writer, her dreams may become true when a dream summer job is available with the very infamous Ford Delaney, who is in hiding in the little town and needs a research assistant.

All is on it’s way until she realizes that she must compete for the position with  her best friends , and both of them are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job (for very different reasons).

Andi wants this job and fights for it, eventually developing some form a friendship with Ford, and Ford feel the same (or maybe more) for her. But there are many obstacles in their way of getting to know each other, especially Andi’s very self centered boyfriend, and her friends, and they could stop her from getting the chance to get an agent or publish, or maybe even stop her from something more important that’s missing in her life, something that she seemed to have found with Ford Delaney.

The character of Andi was a fun one to read, a little ambivalent at times, but it was good, Ford was very swoony, but I wish the author would have explored more of his life, that at times seemed to be so interesting and full of excitement and tragedy, but it’s all only mention as a light commentary and not developed during the book.

The friends ( if you could call them that )  where a bit unnerving at times, they where not very friendly and very unsupportive of Andi ,  Rachel was a good stress factor to the story , but her reasons where so shallow that sometimes I just wanted to smack her !!!   The other friend was kind of blah, even though she was supposed to have a very tragic background I just couldn’t connect with that part of the story, it was to lightly address.

The thing is that I really liked the couple in this book and I was routing for them (I totally dislike Andi’s boyfriend) I don’t mind a bit of cheating when the boyfriend is such a douche as this one was!!!

The thing that actually made me give this book only 3 1/2 stars instead of 4  was the ending, because it was flowing so amazingly , and it was very descriptive , you just knew that there was going to be a happy ending , but it was to brusque to sudden and to fast , so fats that it left me spinning and I felt I needed a little bit more closure to the story  but a good book none the less .

Down to You (The Bad Boys #1) by M. Leighton

BOOK: Down to You by M. Leighton

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 ½ stars

The scorching tale of one girl,  two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.
Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple, Black and white.

But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers, Twins.
Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her.

Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved, and in love with both of them.

Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire.

She wants them both.

And they want her.

How will she ever choose between them?

This is the story of Olivia, an accountant student that because of her financial problems has to go to her snob rich bitch cousin Marisa (who actually can’t seem to stand Olivia) department to live.

One day at her friend’s bachelorette party at some trendy bar (which is over her price range) she confuses the owner with the stripper and there is where se meets Cash (SWOON!!!) He is a mayor bad boy, the owner of a fancy night club, a player that answers to nobody and attaches to no woman and exactly what she should avoid because she is just mending her heart from another one bad boy that left her hanging and broke her.

She immediately feels and amazing tingly feeling with him but decides to step aside and be smart for once , because she need to stay focus on her study and  her work and not be side track by a hot steamy amazing , lust infused body !!!! Because she has a plan to help her Dad run her family business after she graduates.

But Cash is thinking the exact opposite and he wants to find out who this girl is.

But as always everything becomes a hot mess when she realizes that Marisa is dating Nash who is the twin brother of Cash, and after she get’s to know him she stars to fall for him too.

Cash is everything she’s always found attracting in a man, but  she is scared to get hurt again with him and  Nash is the kind of men she should be dating he is the prefect gentleman but he is dating her cousin.

Everything get’s a lot more complicated when she starts to spend more and more time with each one of the brother and she ends up finding very dangerous secret that will change everything with both of the brothers as she must chose one or the other.

For me this book was a good fun read, not the best one I’ve read lately but it kept me going strong and I’m very interested in reading the sequel.

Nash and Cash where hot enough but didn’t give the tingly feeling while reading about them  that some other character give me.

The twist was kind of easy to get but I liked it, the character where good, but maybe a little flat at times so that why I didn’t rate it higher. It was just a good book, but I guess is not the kind that stuck’s with you.

I think people should give it a try though, because it was entertaining and easy to read so you may enjoy it as a palate cleanser in between those very heavy emotional books.

Jet (Marked Men #2) by Jay Crownover

BOOK: Jet  by Jay Crownover

MY RATING FOR IT : 3 1/2 Stars

With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl’s rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn’t want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet’s dark, haunted eyes. She’s afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can’t resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he’s tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

Well, this is the second book in the Marked men series, and to tell you the absolute truth I was kind of iffy about it. The thing is that I read some not so favorable reviews and was kind of biased about this one.

I was so iffy about it that I actually bought the audio book , thinking that maybe that way I may breeze through it more easily, which actually was ab big plus because I was able to connect a little more with the characters this way.

Eventually the time came to read it a I actually realized that it was a good book, not a great one (I mean it can’t compare to the first one Rule, because that one was great!!) but it was better than I thought which I’m so thankful about!! I really didn’t want to feel put off about this series.

Jet is the ultimate rocker , sex god, with the tattoos and piercing to prove it, he is currently living in a house with two girl (Cora from the tattoo parlor and Ayden who is Shaw’s friend from the first book) Ayden feel an instant attraction toward Jet and he feel it too, but he thinks she is too much of a nice girl for him to use and throw away like so many other girls, but the thing is he doesn’t know the real Ayden and the wild side that she is trying so hard to keep hidden.  She has this very shady past that she doesn’t want to live again so she is convinced that Jet is exactly the kind of guy that she shouldn’t be dating so she backs away and they become this kind of friend who lust after each other but never act on it.

Security would always win in any game where love or any other emotion was a consideration, and that was just the way it had to be.

Ayden is set on a straight and narrow path for her life, she wants a good clean boyfriend, with a steady income and a good career, and Jet is the exact opposite of that, Right!? He is the dirty Rocker with no prospect and Hot as Sin!!

Jet , loves his music , he lives for it , it gives him the outlet for all the things that don’t work in his no so perfect life, and he takes very seriously his work , he lives and breathes it. But as always he has a bit of baggage and in this case is in the form of a douchebag father and a abused mother

‘I would rather be broke and do a job I love then wealthy working a nine-to-five any day.’

But eventually and after fighting it for a long time  they do get together and it’s scorching hot , and most likely addictive for them , which is s problem because she can’t seem to see any future with they as a couple beyond a few night of wild hot steamy sex ( Dayummmmm!!!!!)

Sin título

On the other hand Jet is kind of feeling thing which is scary for him, and very confusing for her so…

Well I won’t give more away because otherwise I’ll take all the fun , I just say that as much as I wanted to love this character and I did a little , I couldn’t LOOOOVE LOOOVE THEM the way I loved Shaw and Rule , but I think this story is worth the while that it takes to read it , so take a chance and tell me what you think about it , maybe you’ll think I’m nutty and it’s a  great book or maybe you’ll think is gross and not readable , to each his own right?

Faithless Part One (Faithless #1) by K.B. Nelson

BOOK: Faithless Part One  (Faithless #1)

MY RATING FOR IT : 3 1/2 stars

She’s a stripper. He’s a preacher. Her name’s Faith, and he’s been faithless since the day she went away.

Faith Richards knows she’ll never be able to outrun her demons, but she’s not looking for absolution. She’s looking for release. When she’s forced to return home by circumstances she’d rather not discuss, she runs straight to Noah. The only boy who could ever make her feel alive. The only boy who ever truly broke her heart. The only boy who could possibly save her from herself.

But Noah isn’t a boy anymore…

He no longer believes the words he preaches and his life hangs in the balance of honesty. Reuniting with Faith might be the only thing that can save him, but based on their tumultuous history, it’s more than likely it’ll destroy him.

Their love is undeniable. Their lives hang in the balance. And when their world begins to burn to the ground, they’ll be faced with one impossible decision: can they live with who they’ve become?

*****ARC received by Netgalley for an honest review*****

Well this book was one that I was waiting to read ,the blurb seemed so perfect and I just knew I was going to love it … I mean a stripper and a preacher !!? And step brothers to top it all … I just saw it coming , it was going to be a good one and I love the cover)
The book didn’t disappoint, it was good , maybe a Little on the darker side , but good none the less.
The story revolves around Faith and her brother Noah, they seemed to had a relationship in their teens and a Family tragedy separated them. Faith, after a series of bad decisions , needs to come back home and see her brothers, especially the oldest one Luke, but after her arrival to Old Town , she can’t seem to fin luke , but runs in to Noha who is a preacher, and apparently is very resentful towards Faith.
Well the rest you have to discover for your selves , but let me tell you , this is a gritty , dark , forbidden love , and sex full story, it may not be what you are expecting it to be ,It may be a Little slow in the start but I¿m willing to wait and see what I’ll feel after reasding the next parts,  but it sure is  worth the read!!

VIP (Rock & Release #1) by Riley Edgewood

BOOK: VIP (Rock & Release #1)

MY RATING: 3 1/2 stars

When Cassidy Evans scores VIP tickets to a concert, she decides to use them for one carefree night before beginning a summer internship at her father’s Fortune 500 company. But one carefree night turns into a few too many martinis—with two unexpected twists: A steamy encounter with Gage Logan, sexy singer and guitarist, and a tempting job offer from Gage’s boss to work at the concert venue she now knows quite intimately.
She definitely can’t take the job. Her internship is an opportunity any business major would kill for. But the thought of working with her father, a man furious with grief over a family tragedy that struck six months ago, fills her with dread.

Then there’s Gage. Working with him all summer could be hot. Cassidy can’t stop flashing back to their night together. Molten kisses. His hands smoothing across the skin of her belly. The weight of his body above her own…

And suddenly the decision about how to spend her summer is much, much harder to make.

This one will be a short one , because , it’s the first part of a three book series.

The story centers around Cassidy, a girl who had a big lost in his family, and is very much lost since that. Her parents are not the same that they where and her life is turning in to something that she has no control over.

one day she goes out with a friend to a concert and a Vip bar , and after a few drinks and a fight with the friend she is stranded at the bar , but there she meets a couple of new people , and Gage !!! the bar’s hot performer (swoon!!!).

They offer her a new job , a very different path from the internship she was supposed to do, but she feels is the time to star fresh a be a new Cassidy.

So she takes the bartending job and she get on board with Gabe too, wich is pretty hot!! but a lot of stuff happens especially since she is not in to sharing to much of herself, wich makes a real relationship kind of hard.

Sooo, I won’t share more plot because it’s better when you discover it your selves, but I just want to share that I found it to be a good series , actually I just finished the second book ( wich I bought by my own) and I’m most likely will read the last one .

It’s fun and easy to read , the characters are entertaining and the book is a breeze.. so I say maybe you should give it a try!!!
