Accordance ,Defiance and Independence (Significance series) by Shelly Crane

BOOK:  Accordance ,Defiance and Independence by Shelly Crane

Maggie learns much more about all the strange things that happened to her, and has to face new ones. She rebels against it, but ultimately, must face it for her new families sake and maybe even her life. Bish went from being her biggest supporter to her biggest pain in the butt and Kyle’s intentions to attract her interest may not be so innocent. Caleb and Maggie face many new obstacles together and fight to work through them but will one that should be a good thing be too much for Maggie to handle?

In the third installment of the Significance series, we begin with Maggie and Caleb in the clutches of a new enemy; the Virtuoso council. Not only do they have to deal with the consequences of taking the lives of the Watsons and the council attempting to take Maggie away to keep their precious Visionary safe, but they must deal with Marla as well. All are determined to undermine, control and use Caleb and Maggie’s rare gifts for their own uses, some wish to destroy them entirely. Then Maggie’s father and Bish are threatened but the council forbids the presence of humans. Peter and the family fight and stand beside them every step of the way to save Maggie’s father, to keep Caleb and Maggie together when the corrupted council is so set on keeping them apart and to stop Marla and whatever she has up her sleeve. Then Maggie has the shock of her life when she discovers something about her real father. It may change everything for everyone. Stay tuned as the story continues.

In the fourth and final installment, Maggie and Caleb must tie up all the loose ends of their lives and make a way to be together completely on their own. With everything that happened with Bish and Maggie’s father, she’s almost reluctant to move on and move out. And now she must figure out all of this…stuff…with Haddock. But of course, nothing can stay simple for the Jacobsons. Enemies who were thought to be dissolved have decided to not go down so easily. And old flames come calling for more than just Maggie. Caleb is torn between leading his family and personal wants. Maggie is torn between Caleb and being the leader of their people. But neither will let what they need most to be pushed to the wayside. They are determined to make it all work, design a plan toward destiny, and make everything right again for themselves and their family.

This review is about the last 3 books in the series at the same time so that’s why it’s kind of patched together….  (Best to do them all at once instead of dragging along)

Dang it’s so goooooooood , I cant believe how much I’m liking this series , in this one they go to California to take some time away from the other clan that is making their lives hell , but apparently hell chases them down there ,along with apprehensive brothers and jealous cousins.

Maggie and Caleb are getting stronger and more daring in their relationship as they are becoming closer and more comfortable with their feelings and each other.

This book was super fun to read and the other characters in the book took more of a center stage so we could get to know them a little more.

And Caleb … oh Caleb, he was as swoon worthy as ever, (so sweet and perfect)

The world of this series keeps getting better and better and expanding, so I’, looking forward to the next installment.

Ohhh the only thing was that the cliffhanger was TERRIBLE… I’m going to have to keep reading, there’s just no other way around it…

In the third book they are already in London , and Marla is stirring some shit , cause she is trying slander Maggie’s character and that way she is deflecting from the Thompson’s plan to get ride of her for ever.

But Maggie and Caleb know what there are up to , they just need to fond a way to get everybody else to believe them and support them.

Maggie just wants to be good at the Visionary role , and do right by her people , but she just wants to be treated as a normal person , which is very much dislike by the council

Maggie is getting better and better at  understanding her powers and where they come from , so that makes her much more able to stand in front of her family and be the leader they want her to be.

There’s a lot more action in this book and that made it one of the most entertaining one of the whole lot.

The last book so far was a  great book , but I must say it’s  not my favorite , but it was fun to read and it wrap up the hole story nicely , Caleb is still swoon worthy and Becks which is an important character at the beginning of this story  is still a bit of a tool as a friend.

The different couples all have their day in the sun, and the Thompsons are still and issue , which proves to be quite challenging at some point.

The relationship between Caleb and Maggie is a strong as it can be , an Kyle finally is less annoying , I don’t want to give any more away , but even as the story is wrap up nicely it felt just a little flat at the end for me , I don’t know … I just … there’s something missing maybe ??

Well … all in all this series is very good and if you like Y.A this one is very entertaining…

This part was a little steamier than the others, but still pretty tame (which is good, considering that this is for younger readers) … and as much as I like it the final book let me a little… mmm I don’t know , but I definitely recommend it , it’s just that maybe I was expecting more of a BANG !!! or something,  but it’s a  great  read none the less.

Significance (Significance #1) by Shelly Crane

BOOK: Significance (Significance #1) by Shelly Crane

MY RATING FOR IT : 4 1/2 stars

Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who’s had a bad year. She was smart and on track, but then her mom left, her dad is depressed, she’s graduating – barely – and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football scholarship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.

Then she saves the life of Caleb and instantly knows there’s something about him that’s intriguing. But things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally.

They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she’s ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive.

Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb’s enemies know he’s imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him.

Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?

Holly Y.A. heaven, this book is like a drug, I loved it. I can’t get enough of it, I don’t know why  took me so long to read it , it has sat on my I-pad for ages, and suddenly I felt the urge to read it , so here it goes.

Maggie is a regular 17 years old teenage girl, with problems like any other girl , well maybe a little more so since her mother left her and her father and he is kind of catatonic in his grief, And to top it all her boyfriend Chad left her to go to college on a football scholarship.

She is graduating early from high school, and after a very disappointing graduation ceremony, she decides to go out with her friend Kyle, who has always had kind of a crush on her.

While she waits for his call to get together, she stop at a red light and meets a very good-looking boy, that almost got crushed by a car, except she saver him and he fall on top of her. So here comes Caleb, the handsome leading men!! (SWOON!!!!). Caleb is in college, he is older than Maggie, but she fell an instant connection to him , and apparently so does him, he decides to walk Maggie to where she is going and suddenly they realize that Caleb and Kyle are cousins (after seeing Maggie with Caleb this is something that doesn’t sit very well with Kyle).

Kyle is ready to go on the date with Maggie, but she feel she has to say good bye to this boy, so she goes to him and after a very small touch they imprint on each other!!!  , because actually Caleb and Kyle are not really Humans they are supernatural and they bond as soul mates instantly, feeling desperately for one another.

Their hearts beat together and they can’t stand to be separated, I mean it actually hurts to be apart, so this is insta-love in its finest form!!

But obviously as soon as they start to kind of date (leaving aside the soul mates for ever and stuff) all hell breaks loose, because her dad’ suddenly is very interested in her well being, and he friend Becks and ex boyfriend Chad are not very helpful, neither is Kyle who is actually hurting over Maggie and Caleb’s relationship, and add to the mix a near clan that wants to hurt Maggie and Caleb’s family.

So this book is all about the discovery of a new young love and how to deal with very strong urges and feeling for one another, a very deep passion and the changes that all this brings to their lives, especially Maggie’s.

Well I certainly love the Character and really found the story to be so entertaining; it was a joy to read. I’m totally reading the next books, I need my Caleb fix!!

It’s so great to  read a good Y.A book that grave me this feeling of giddiness  (the last one  was the Obsidian series) and even tough this kind of books obviously are a lot more tamed that the regular books I read , I love them just as much.

What If (If Only… #2) by A.J. Pine

BOOK: What If (If Only… #2) by A.J. Pine

Sometimes it takes letting go of the past to find out who you want to be.

During his semester abroad, Griffin Reed almost gave his heart to a girl who loved someone else. Lesson learned. Now he’s home, where following in his father’s footsteps may not be what he wants, but it’s what his parents expect. It might be taking the easy road, but he doesn’t see a way out.

Something that could have killed Maggie Kendall took away the person she used to be instead. Her condition makes her dependent on sticky notes, photos, and medication just to get through each day. The last thing she needs is a distraction—or someone new to disappoint.

What they refuse to see is they are perfect for each other. Maggie makes Griffin want to be a better man, and he makes her believe a future is possible. But these two have to find a way to share the secrets ripping them apart, if they’re ever going to have a chance at happiness.

First I have to say that I started this book without reading the first part , so I can honestly say that it’s totally a standalone book , you don’t need the first book to like this one.

secondly I must say that even though it started kind of slow for me at first , it pick up after a few pages and I got really in to it.

I have never read anything from A.J.Pine before, but I most certainly will ,because I really like her writing style, it flows nice and smoothly, the characters are endearing and relatable, and the story was entertaining , so much so that I read this one in one sitting.

Maggie is a Young woman who had a life changing event in her life, she survive some sort of medical condition( it’s not fully explained until later on) wich left her with a frail mind and scared.she has the help of her friends , and her sticky notes  to help her remember the thing she may forget about her every day life , but her life will never be like it was before and she knows it .

Griffin is at college , living in his home again after studying abroad and returning home heart-broken a few years earlier. He hasn’t recover fully from that heart-break, and it’s pretty much lost , not really sure what to do with his life. He’s been fighting, drinking and living day-to-day , trying to stick to his parents plan for him , because he must step in to his father shoes and take on his company, whether he likes it or not.

Both of them are very much trying to stay focus on their task, but after they meet  when he pick her up after she loses her bus , everything changes , because Griffin is intrigued about this beautiful  Girl, there’s something about her that he can´t forget.

They start to meet and decide to have a no strings kind of relationship , but early on they both realize that it’s fast becoming something more , and they are both scared to get deeper and reveal their secrets , especially Maggie who feels that she will be a burden to heavy to carry.

…So I can’t say much more about the plot without spoiling it , I just have to say that the story was lovely , and sweet , at some point I did wanted to slap one or the other , but eventually I calmed down.

I really liked Griffin, he was a very dreamy guy , wich is why I’m torn about reading the first book, I don’t know if I want to read a story where he’s rejected, and Noah felt kind of Blah! in the few moment we see him in this book … so I guess I’ll figure that out eventually.

There is a fair amount of steam in this book , not so descriptive but it complements the pace of the book, and is very nicely developed.

I really likes Miles!!! Maggi’s friend , he was great, super supporting and very fun to read.

All in all I really liked the book , it was a fun, sweet ,very entertaining story , and I will definitely read more from this author.

*I received an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
