Gone Girl

BOOK:  Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

MY RATING FOR IT: 4 stars

SYNOPSIS

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

Ok, ok ok!!!! I know, I’m soooooo late with a review with this book that is really old by now, but what can I say??? I just wasn’t in to it … at first.

I had these book since 2015 and just read it like 2 months ago ( shame on me , I know) it was one of those books that you start reading and go , mmm yeah it’s not for me … buuuuuuut … it just so happens that it was so GOOD!!!!!

It was my first non romance book in ages ( it was my first book at all in ages !! ) I was kind of in a rut and was trying to find the fun in reading again, so I decided to give a go at some of the old book in my IPad, and this one was the first one in the list… it was good choice!!!

I never saw the movie so I had no preconceived notions of what the story was about, which was a big plus I guess.

The story is about married couple, Nick and Amy Dunne. They are supposed to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on that night but Nick realizes that Amy has gone missing And there seems to have been a struggle in their Livingroom and things don’t look too promising for Amy. Also big detail the #1 suspect appears to be Nick.

The story is told some chapters in Nick’s POV (present day), and Amy’s POV is told thru some r journal entries, that seemed to be from a previous time starting at the time they got to know each other and started dating.

I can’t say much without getting in to the plot and ruining it for you (if you are the last person on earth besides me that has not read it yet) but I just have to tell you that this is one FUCKED UP GROUP OF PEOPLE!!! Some are slightly more likable and human at times, but very flawed none the less.

This book was kind of slow at first and that was the main reason why it took me soooo long to get in the mood to read it , but once I got the flow going it got good quick and it really picked up the pace with one twist after the next , and one mystery after another , which  made me want to read it more and more, it was so entertaining , I was literally  consumed by this book at one point  and it was a great reminder of what books make you feel when you engage with a good story.

I did finished it, and it was with a sense of dread for the human race( jah) , and a bit of a sour taste in my mouth with the finishing part,  but overall it was an excellent read and even though not 100%  within the type of book I normally read it at least it made me reconsider the wonderful array of story’s I have yet to read … so I think I’m back to the book this year.

BOOK:  Rule (Marked Men #1)

My Rating: 4 stars

SYNOPSIS

Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters

She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

I actually never heard of this book before a few months ago it was in my kindle for so long that i had completely forgotten about it , but the dude on the cover is so hot that i took a chance…

Rule Archer is an angry, bad boy, who has tattoos, and terrible attitude , he enjoys easy women and is strange from his family ever since the lost his other half-his twin brother in a tragic accident.

on the ither hand there’s Shaw , she comes from money and is a princess, but doesn’t have a good relationship with her parents especially her Mother….( annoying woman i wanted to bitch slap her so much!)

“Opposites don’t just attract they freaking catch fire and burn the entire city down”

she used to have a relationship with Rules twin  Remy , but has always been in love with Rule…

“It’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It’s just always been you.”

rule4

“I think it’s genetically impossible not to be kind of in love with him when you come equipped with a vagina. It’s just something about all that angsty, moody swagger he has that makes you want to cuddle him up and make him feel better”

After reading very dark stories , with very harsh characters this was just what I needed to clear my mind from all the terrible angst.

It´s kind of similar to the Cherrie Lynn Rock Me series (there are many similarities) but maybe this one is a little sweeter, a good and fun read…. i´cant say that i TOTALLY LOOOOOVE IT but i really like it enough that i´m reading the next book on the series.

Why did it took me so long? … “OBSIDIAN” by Jennifer L. Armentrout ( Lux #1)

Book: “OBSIDIAN” by Jennifer L. Armentrout ( Lux #1)

My Rating: 4 of 5  great stars!!

SYNOPSIS

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is

My Thoughts about it

After loosing her father ,Katy a girl from Florida moves with her mother to a small town in West Virginia. Her mother pushes her to try to make some new friends , so she goes to the neighbours to ask for directions to the nearest store

there she meet the lovely  Dee and the not so lovely but very swoon worthy, tall , dark , and very very handsome Daemon Black, who is very keen on keeping  Katy away from his sister.

After a conversation gone wrong she realizes he’s as beautiful as he is arrogant and full of himself

“He was probably the hottest guy I’d ever seen in real life, and he was a total douche. Go figure.”

After Katy suffers a terrible attack and Daemon comes to her rescue , she will find out what is the reason for his attitude and nothing will ever be the same for her.

I  must say that I really like this one , even do it´s a lot more wholesome than my usual reads.

it was very fun , it got me hooked right away and the characters where entertaining to read … I love love love Daemon     (he was kind of a douche at first and in that horrible the cafeteria scene I feel so bad for Katy) I JUST WANTED TO PUNCH HIM … but it gets better.

He is super mega HOT… if i had a neighbour like that, i would totally stalk him… like really…
anyway, Kat is pretty great, she is very funny , sarcastic and witty . She likes Daemon A LOT but she does not let him walk all over her wich was what made me love her … the story is very entertaining , it was super fun for me to read, the time just flew by and I cant wait to start on the second book

At first I thought these would be  like an alien version of Twilight , wich kind of put me of it for a while , but it’s not .

I very much recommend it it´s an easy fun read and it will make time fly by.

At least it did for me …
