BOOK: Love Unscripted
MY RATING FOR IT: 3 ½ stars
An A-List Movie Star…
Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine a life where fans would chase him, paparazzi would stalk him, and Hollywood studios would want to own him. While filming in Seaport, Rhode Island, Ryan ducks into a neighborhood bar for a quick escape from legions of screaming fans…and finds much more than he expected.
A Small Town Girl…
Nursing a recent heartbreak, Taryn Mitchell believes men are best kept at a safe distance. But when Ryan Christensen unexpectedly bursts through the front door of her pub, she can’t help but be drawn in by his humor, charm, and undeniable good looks. At six foot two, with dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and an incredible body, Ryan has every girl in Seaport swooning. But Taryn isn’t every other girl.
A Relationship that Doesn’t Follow the Script…
Despite her better judgment, Taryn soon finds herself falling hard for Ryan. But is their bond strong enough to survive the tabloid headlines, the relentless paparazzi, and the jealous fans who seem determined to tear them apart?
MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT
3 1/2 STARS FOR THIS MOVIE STAR /NORMAL GIRL LOVE STORY
It was a really good book , the story of Taryn and Ryan , was very well developed , the sweet moments where there and a lot of angst too… a LOT !! A little low on the steam factor, I never ever felt that was part of the story, Luke warm scenes at most, sometime Taryn seemed a little too prim and proper.
If there’s anything that bother me a little was just how long it felt sometimes, I can understand how the author may wanted to show the complete parts of a growing relationship , the mundane included , and I like that approach, It’s a good way to engage the reader , but some of the chapters felt too long for my liking (sometimes I had to take brakes and read something else) and some characters seemed to cartoony , like the obsessed fan and the depiction of her as super crazy , ugly and deranged … It felt weird at times a bit too I don’t know false?? It was made to look like the main character was all angelical and amazing and the fans where ugly destructive horrible persons.
I guess some chapters made it a challenge to keep going but I did and I’m glad that I did, because the story is a good one , It’s a lot more real than the norm in romance books , and with a lot less fluff!! (Not that there’s anything wrong with a little fluff)
GOOD ENOUGH BOOK, A LITTLE TOO LONG, BUT ENGAGING ENOUGH WITH THE OVER 600 PAGES OF IT.
I’m intrigued enough that I most likely will go for the next book of the series.
