BOOK:  Troubles and Treats (chocolate lovers #3) by Tara Sivec

MY RATING FOR IT: 3 1/2 stars

SYNOPSIS

Drew and Jenny have spent years being the envy of their friends with their out of control sex lives – well, not really. Mostly it makes their friends want to throw up in their mouths a little.
With two little kids and two busy lives, for the first time, Drew and Jenny aren’t on the same page in the bedroom. Drew will stop at nothing to get his previously amorous wife back in the sack, and Jenny will do anything for a full night of sleep.

Carter and Claire, and Jim and Liz are their usual (un)helpful selves and are full of advice for the discontented duo, wanting nothing more than to help restore order to the usually happy couple’s lives.

In the third and final installment of the Chocolate Lovers Series, will Drew and Jenny find the spark that’s been missing in their marriage, or will the trouble they’re having cause a stickier situation than the time Jenny poured honey all over Drew and he fused himself to a tree?

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

This is a series that I love, there are funny and witty and very politically incorrect but in a super hilarious way , BUUUUUT….

… I didn’t love this one , which is kind of sad , I don’t know what happened but it was very hard to connect with the story , the first 5 chapters where a bit tedious to me , eventually I enjoy it , but it was not an easy read like the previous ones.

Drew was funny but at times it was tooo over the top in his plans, there’s so much one can believe that a normal woman can understand in a husband.

Jenny was kind of blah in this book, she actually losses her sex mojo during most of the book, which made it difficult to connect because that is one of her characteristic trades as a character.

The kids where amazing I still love Gavin and their interactions where very funny.

Claire and Carter where as great as ever and Lisa and Jim too, I guess my problem is that I don’t find Drew and Jenny that interesting to begin with, yes they’re funny in an over the top crazy sex life kind of way and yes they are a bit unusual in their own way, but overall I just don’t find them that interesting.

I did laugh a lot at some parte (mostly from the middle of the book forward) but I just didn’t love it like the rest of them.

Hopefully the Chocoholics series will make me a believer again, because this books are supposed to be easy, fun , light , reading to me and this last one felt like work at times.

BOOK: One Week Girlfriend/Second Chance Boyfriend by Monica Murphy

MY RATING FOR IT: 4 STARS

SYNOPSIS

Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I’m working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I’m my little brother’s temporary mother since our mom doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I’m that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least.

But now I’m the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He’s beautiful, sweet—and he’s hiding way more secrets than I am. He’s brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is…

Me.

I don’t know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

This series is one that I been meaning to read for a long time , but life kept getting in the  way and I put it on-line several times, but I’ve finally read it and it was pretty awesome , I must say so my self.

The story is about Drew and Fable. She is a hard-working girl, that works at the local bar ,and is desperate to get as much money as she can , because, she is supporting her drunk mother and her little brother.

One week girlfirend

It’s so stupid, but I let guys use me because for that one fleeting moment, when he’s focusing all of his attention on me and no one else, it feels good. It helps me forget that no one really cares.

Drew is the football star in town , he is gorgeous but is kind of recluse ,that makes it even more strange when he approaches Fable and asks her to be his girlfriend for a weekend.

From the outside, my family looks perfect. Well, as perfect as a family can be with one dead mother, and one dead sister. A fucked up stepmother and a cold as hell father. Yeah. Real perfect.

She can’t refuse the money  so she goes along , they get to know each other on the ride and he is hiding something but she can’t see what it is yet  ,  but when they meet his  family we can see that something very wird is going on then everything goes down hill, his step mother is clearly in to him!! and she is not to subtle about it either , and the father is totally oblivious to the situation.

Fable and Drew are getting closer and te step mom is getting bitchier, and more reckless about her feelings for Drew , and at that point we kind of figured that something happened between them , but the truth is worse than what I thought at first.

“He might be more trouble than he’s worth but I don’t think so. This man came into my life for some reason. Just as I came into his. Maybe we’re supposed to help each other cope.
Or give each other hope.”

This first book is very entertaining and the relationship is very strong between this two characters, there’s a lot of steam int his book , they get together and it’s smoking hot , but there’s a lot of baggage too.

“I want to map every inch of her skin with my mouth. I want to sit with her in my arms and kiss her for hours, until our lips are swollen and our jaws are tired. I want to know what she looks like when she comes. And I want to be the one who makes her come with my name falling from her lips.”

This book left with a cliffhanger , but a not so bad one , because they get separated but there’s the hope of them getting back together.

It’s been a few month since the last book and Fable is working in a really nice restaurant , Drew is hurting and trying to get better so he can be with the woman he loves.

They see each other by chance in the restaurant and he tries to get her to forgive him , but it’ to hard for her, she feels so sad by him leaving her after everything they went thru.

My mom was pretty dead on when she named me Fable, wasn’t she? I don’t feel real to anyone.”
“You’re real to me.”

Eventually she realizes that they can’t be apart , wich was great because they belong together and I couldn’t stand it for one more chapter.

This book has some mayor screwed up situations , because there’s the little brother and the drunk mother , and let’s not forget the bitch of a step mother, son yeah!! lot’s of os juicy stuff.

I don’t want to give too much away so I’ll keep it short… but I really think this is s very good book , and the second book is HOT !! I mean scorching hot …so what’s not to like.
