Pure (Covenant #2),Deity (Covenant #3),Apollyon (Covenant #4),Sentinel (Covenant #5)by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The covenant

BOOKS: Pure (Covenant #2),Deity (Covenant #3),Apollyon (Covenant #4),Sentinel (Covenant #5)

MY RATING FOR IT: 4 1/stars ( especially the last one )

SYNOPSIS

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals–well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1: Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

 MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

I’m going to talk about the first book and ramble a little  for the rest cause in this story i dont want to give to much away and if i go book to book il never finish my ohh’s and Ahhhhh’s  cause this books are Y.A. gems.

This one was the logic continuation of the first book, it strait just where the other one finished and just like that one, it was a magnificent read, I mean it just gets better and better.

“Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve wanted to break every rule.” Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. “You’ll become the centre of someone’s world one day. And he’ll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.”

Alex is full on training, and her relationship with Aiden even as it develops it does take some sort of a stall , cause He’s convinced that they are doing something too dangerous and he just won’t put Alex in peril.

Aw, did you just fall?”
“No.” I rolled onto my back, wincing. “I attacked the floor.

“I know what’s happened,” Apollo said after a few seconds. My brows furrowed. “What are you talking about?” He nodded at the board. My gaze dropped to the game and I nearly passed out. He’d spelled SEX and AIDEN with those stupid little squares.”

Seth is his usual self (beautiful and full of himself) but in this book he made ma really like him, I mean, like really like him!

Alex has to go thru some very difficult stuff and Seth is there to pick up the pieces when Aiden is not, which is weird but understandable in a way…

Everything start to unravel more and more about the mysteries of what Alex is and what she’ll become eventually and things get better and better.

“Gods were like possums.

You could go your whole life without seeing one, but once you found one of them, you found the whole freaky family.”

Aidan is not sooooo present in this book, I mean he is but this is more around the development of Seth and Alex’s bond

There’s a big change in scenery and some very unsavory character’s get introduced, but don’t fret cause there are some really great ones too, and a lot of surprises and plot twists (typical of JL’s writing style)

The rest I’m not going to spoil for you because this is a very fun book to read and you need to explore it and get involved in it without spoiler or too many inside info.

But I just need to say that these books just keep getting better and better as the story unfolds.

This book have a lot more action on them that the previous ones and a lot more romance too , so you see that it’s really a great read !!!

the next book are just as amazing and the characters keep developing , there are some twist that left me running for the next book and you need to be aware that there are some free novels too!!! so this is a very complete story…

“We had no idea what waited ahead of us, other than the big, fat unknown, and most likely a big, fat kick in the face. The gravity of that was killing me-killing us

I really don’t want to give mayor spoiler so I WON’T!!!  But you must now that this gets so much better and the twist and turns are great!!!

“What is it with the St. Delphi brothers and their attraction to halfs?”

“He was my strength when I needed him to be, my friend when I needed someone to talk me down, my equal in a world where by law I would always be less than him, and honest to gods, he was the love of my life.”

Please just do yourself a favor and if you like Y.A. and amazing romantic full of action stories, you must read this series ….

I’m still finishing the spin off  book to (yes there’s a spin of !!!!!)  I’m off to read that  one …..

This books are soooooo good , read it …. READ TI NOW !!

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

Like a good little reader that I am , I started with the prequel of the first of the Covenant books , cause I have heard that it was a good introduction for everything related to the Covenant world and Alexandria’s world too.

It was a good choice cause it gave me better understanding to where Alex was coming from and what she went through before the start of the first book.

Alex is not a normal girl, she’s not even a human girl, she is a HALF BLOOD (half human half Hematoi) and she feels completely alienated from the human world she now lives in. her mother took her from the covenant 3 year ago and nothing has been the same since. She doesn’t know who or what are they running from and her mom, though a loving mother is very secretive about the reasons why they had to leave the only place they ever knew as home, the place that Alex loved and where she was doing her training.

They live around mortal now and she tries to live like any normal 17 years old  teenage, but after sneaking out one night with her friends and yet another disappointing night ,her world changes completely and she finds herself alone and  on the run from Daimons, the very thing she is supposed to be trained to hunt.

After that first sneak peek, we get to know right away that Alex will be a strong character cause under a lot of difficult circumstances she keeps being resilient, but the Diamons are too much for an alone and untrained girl, BUUUUUUT here comes the loooovley swoon worthy Aiden!!!!

He was Alex’s first crush when she was a teenage girl living at the covenant, he’s a pure though and pure does don’t mingle with Half’s, that’s a big NO NO!!!

“ALEX: “How come you smile when you knock me down?”

AIDEN: “It’s the little things that make me happy.”

I keep forgetting how much i like Jennifer L. Armentrout’s writing, I mean it’s not Obsidian which is one of my Y.A. all-time fav, but the characters where just as engaging as if it was (maybe a little bit less banter)

WELL THERES WAS SOME BANTER !!

Was your mom a gardener?’ I asked innocently.
‘What?’ Ren’s mouth hung open slightly.
‘Because a face like yours belongs planted on the ground.”

“Whatever! Go save a dolphin or something!”

He whirled around. “It’s a whale, Alex, a whale! That’s what I’m interested in saving.”

I threw up my arms. “What’s wrong with saving dolphins?”

I’m super in love with Aiden and Alex sometimes made feel like I wanted to hit he, but just sometimes
I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IS GOING TO GO DOWN WITH SETH , THAT LOOKS COMPLETLY PROMISISNG !!!

“I don’t want to know about love.’

‘But you should, my child. You need to know about love. The things people will do for love. All truths come down to love, do they not? One way or another, they do. See, there is a difference between love and need. Sometimes, what you feel is immediate and without rhyme or reason.’ She sat up a little straighter. ‘Two people see each across a room or their skin brushes. Their souls recognize the person as their own. It doesn’t need time to figure it. The soul always knows… whether it’s right or wrong.”

ohhhh and the best friend was a sweetheart !!

I just loved this series , I’m defo going to keep at it cause I’m a bit OCD and can’t stand not to finish a series once I started it …
another great book by a great author …
